Stretch marks are visible scars caused by tears in the dermal layer, or middle layer, of the skin. The skin may tear when it’s stretched too quickly, such as during pregnancy, growth spurts, weight gain, or body-building. Stretch marks may first appear as red or purple lines, and fade to brown, pink, or white.
Stretch marks are caused by rapid stretching of the skin that causes the dermis to tear. Stretch marks are also associated with hormonal changes that occur during puberty, pregnancy, and muscle building. Hormones effect the development of stretch marks by preventing fibroblasts from forming the collagen and elastin fibres that keep skin taut and firm. Without this supportive structure, the dermal and epidermal layers of skin may tear as they are stretched.
The Maximus System heats the dermal layer, helping the growth of collagen and elastin to strengthen and repair the skin. TriLipo™ technology uses a combination of focused TriLipo radio frequency technology and TriLipo Dynamic Muscle Activation (DMA), which are delivered to the skin in a unique simultaneous application. This combination allows LCI to treat the epidermis, dermis, fat and muscle through the TriLipo procedure, yielding unsurpassed esthetic results.
You may feel some heat from the Maximus System, but the treatments are extremely comfortable.
Depending on the size of the area to be treated, a treatment may last for approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour per session.
Your technician will recommend a course of treatment after assessing the condition of your skin. Usually, 6 to 10 sessions are needed.
No. Treatments with the Maximus System are non-invasive, so you may resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
Some skin redness or swelling may occur during or immediately after treatment. This should fade within a few hours.
Most stretch marks show improvement after only one treatment. The full effects will show in the months following treatment as collagen growth develops in the dermis, strengthening and tightening the skin.
