Radio frequency skin tightening is primarily used to treat lax skin on the face and in other areas of the body. It is best suited to patients with mild to moderately sagging skin, usually aged mid-thirties to fifties. Any skin color can be treated. Most people will see immediate improvement in skin tightness.
Common areas of treatment include the face, neck, abdomen, thighs, and upper arms.
Radio frequency energy passes through the epidermis, the outer layer of the skin, to the dermal layer. The dermal layer contains the collagen fibres that give skin its structure. Focused energy heats the collagen fibres, causing them to contract, resulting in immediate skin tightening and smoothing. The heat also stimulates the fibroblasts to generate new collagen in the following 3 to 6 months.
First, your skin care specialist will assess the condition of your skin. Before treatment begins, your skin will be cleaned of any makeup or skin lotions. A thin layer of glycerine will be applied. During treatment, the technician will pass the applicator over your skin in strategic motions. Several passes of the area being treated will be performed.
The Maximus TriLipo™ system is the most advanced treatment on the market, and is far more comfortable than older protocols. Most people will feel a warm sensation during the treatment. Overall, the treatment is quite comfortable and very relaxing.
LCI recommends a series of 6 to 10 treatments, spaced 1 week apart. Your skin care specialist will monitor your progress and make recommendations for your course of treatment.
Skin tightening results have been clinically proven. Significant results were visible immediately after the first treatment, and long-term results improved after multiple treatments.
Yes. The Maximus TriLipo system is designed with technical features and clinical protocols to optimize safety. Multiple electrodes are used to deliver radio frequency energy to the tissues, preventing overheating at skin contact points. For your safety, the system is designed to limit combination of current, pulse duration, and frequency. Sophisticated algorithms control the energy output, providing maximum safety and efficiency.
Skin in the treated area may be pink or red immediately after treatment. Some swelling may occur.
